What to Expect

Your child’s chiropractic examinations and adjustments will be quite different from yours. We’ll be looking at age-appropriate primitive reflexes and developmental milestones to determine how well their nervous system is communicating. We’ll also talk with Mum and Dad about any concerns they have. Our goal is not to “sit and wait.” We want to be proactive in creating health rather than waiting for problems or dysfunction to develop.

As kids get older, you may notice different types of issues arising: recurrent illnesses, behaviour issues at school, bedwetting or sleep disturbances, to name a few. Many of these conditions can be traced back to nervous system disturbances, and when we locate and correct the underlying problem in the spine, the nervous system can return to working the way it should, and many conditions resolve on their own.

To make your visit as comfortable as possible, we’ve got changing and feeding facilities in our Centre. We understand that babies can be unpredictable, and we are happy to adapt and accommodate your needs.

Our adjusting techniques for children are extremely gentle, typically using a low-force instrument or a finger to apply about the same pressure you might use to check a tomato for ripeness. The adjustments are quite comfortable and many parents think it looks like a very gentle massage.
